Mumbai Metro 2B: In what may come as good news for Mumbaiites, the phase of Mumbai Metro Line 2B may be operational soon.
The final safety inspection will be conducted by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) on Wednesday, the Indian Express reported. This is the final check before the line can be opened to commuters by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), subject to completion of all compliance issues.
Phase one of Mumbai Metro Line 2B is the 5.39-kilometre-long stretch between Mandale and Diamond Garden. It will include five stations — Diamond Garden in Chembur, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL Metro, Mankhurd near Kurla, Mandale Metro. The Metro line will provide respite to travellers in the eastern suburbs and those using the Eastern Express Highway (EEH).
