RTD to shut down segment of G Line for 4 hours Wednesday for emergency drill

A segment of the G Line between Denver Union Station and Wheat Ridge will be closed to train travel for four hours Wednesday as the Regional Transportation District conducts a joint emergency preparedness drill alongside local law enforcement agencies.

The drill will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. between the Olde Town Arvada and Pecos Junction stations.

The last eastbound train will depart Wheat Ridge-Ward Road Station at 9:21 a.m., while the last westbound train will depart Union Station at 9:31 a.m. Bus shuttles will provide service between the impacted stations throughout the drill.

Residents and businesses in the area of the impacted stations may see a noticeable presence of emergency vehicles and first responders during the exercise. The drill is part of RTD’s regular emergency preparedness efforts.

Customers should allow extra travel time and look for posted signage at stations. Full rail service for the G Line will resume by 2 p.m.
