Nepal is witnessing pure chaos, and it seems like the situation is not going to calm down anytime soon. The county’s youth broke into massive protests as they took to streets against the now-lifted ban on 26 social media platforms on September 04. However, by the time the Nepali Government lifted the ban- it seemingly was too late as the ‘Gen Z-led’ protests turned into an uprising against social issues like corruption, unemployment, and more. The situation only turned ugly after the resistance took a brutally violent turn, resulting in protesters burning Government offices and the residences of Government officials. Several disturbing videos came forward, leaving the world stunned and concerned. Amid the drama, a rather problematic video came forward, which showed a ‘Gen Z protester’ dancing allegedly for a ‘reel’- meanwhile, a Government building continued to burn behind him. In fact, the man was not the only one to dance while everything burned. As the camera panned to the other side, many other protesters were also seen dancing and even ‘celebrating’. As per many netizens and the viral video itself, the burning structure in question was Nepal’s Parliament building. So far, most of Nepal’s big political names, including former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and others, have resigned. Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, wife of Nepal’s former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, unfortunately lost her life after protesters reportedly trapped her in their home and set it on fire. Coming back to the dance clip, it left many questioning the very intention of the protesters. As per the viral post, the matter is being investigated. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. This Gen Z does not know that they will take decades to rise from this destruction of their nation and its property,” a user said. “I was supporting them at first. But now this is turning into an issue,” added another. “What is wrong with kids these days? Their reason to protest initially was nice but I dunno what happened after this,” wrote the next person. “With all this, will the next government do a good job? Let’s see,” added another.
