If you’re stuck for something new to stream, the recent Emmys could well help put an end to your searching.
Celebrating the biggest achievements in telly over the last year, the annual US awards show honoured a host of shows that might have passed you by completely when they first came out – so what better time to finally check them out for yourself?
Here’s a quick guide to where the biggest shows at the 2025 Emmys are currently streaming in the UK…
Adolescence
Best Limited Or Anthology Series, Best Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series (Stephen Graham), Best Supporting Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series (Owen Cooper),Best Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series (Erin Doherty), Best Directing In A Limited Or Anthology Series, Best Writing In A Limited Or Anthology Series
Tell me more: When an otherwise unassuming teenager is accused of killing a girl in his class, it turns his entire community upside down, and leads everyone connected to the case to ask big questions of both society and themselves.
It’s hard to know where to begin praising Adolescence. The gripping four-part drama features an absolutely stellar cast, thought-provoking themes that have even been commented on in Downing Street and a truly unique viewing experience thanks to its distinct one-take approach, which puts you right in the centre of the drama.

Best Comedy Series, Best Actor In A Comedy Series (Seth Rogen), Best Directing In A Comedy Series, Best Writing In A Comedy Series
Tell me more: Seth Rogen’s homage to Hollywood premiered earlier this year with a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, with each episode gently ribbing a different aspect of the modern cinema world, taking aim at everything from the endless stream of movies based on existing IP (an early episode centres around the casting of a fictitious, but not unrealistic, Kool-Aid movie) to the rise of AI and its impact on the industry.
As well as its stellar troupe of regulars, including Kathryn Hahn, Catherine O’Hara and Ike Barinholtz, there’s also a jaw-dropping list of A-list cameos to watch out for, with Martin Scorsese, Zoë Kravitz, Adam Scott, Zac Efron, Charlize Theron, Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi just some of the stars who play themselves in the show.

Best Drama Series, Best Actor In A Drama Series (Noah Wyle), Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series (Katherine LaNasa),
Tell me more: From the team behind the TV juggernaut that was E.R., The Pitt modernises the medical drama for 2025.
Set in real time across a 15-hour shift at an emergency department, the show effectively serves as a cross between Grey’s Anatomy and 24, and has already garnered a loyal following across the pond since it began streaming earlier this year.
Stream it on: Sadly, it’s currently not available to stream in the UK, but in the US, it’s available on HBO Max.
Best Actress In A Drama Series (Britt Lower), Best Supporting Actor In A Drama Series (Tramell Tillman)
Tell me more: The second season of the enigmatic US workplace drama answered a handful of the questions we were left with at the end of that infamous cliffhanger, but ultimately presented us with a whole load more that are still to be answered (not to mention plenty more moral quandaries along the way too). Far from frustrating its loyal fans with the lack of answers, though, the latest run of Severance made for an enthralling viewing experience.
For the uninitiated, Severance is set at the mysterious office of an evil conglomerate, where workers are permitted to switch off their memories at the beginning of a work day, and turn them back on again on the way out, resulting in split personalities in and out of the office – neither having any access to the other.

Best Actress In A Comedy Series (Jean Smart), Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series (Hannah Einbinder)
Tell me more: Hacks began life as a story about a fading stand-up who is paired against her will with a struggling millennial comedy writer on the come-up to help energise her act and introduce her to a new audience.
Over the years, the two comedic forces become unlikely (and, at times, toxically co-dependent) friends and confidants, but it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for their relationship in the latest batch of episodes.

The Penguin
Winner: Best Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series (Cristin Milioti)
Tell me more: Set in the same universe as 2022’s The Batman, this miniseries explores the world of Colin Farrell’s villainous Penguin character.
While comic book origin stories haven’t traditionally made for the most critically-acclaimed of TV shows, The Penguin’s unique point of view, visual style and production design has seen it singled out for praise, not to mention the performances from its impressive cast.

Somebody Somewhere
Winner: Best Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series (Jeff Hiller)
Tell me more: Undoubtedly the most heartwarming and life-affirming show you’ve probably never heard of, Somebody Somewhere premiered quietly in the US in 2022, and it wasn’t long before it had a cult following thanks to its beautiful depiction of small-town life, the escapism that music can provide in hard times and celebration of chosen family.
Bridget Everett takes the lead as a woman who finds herself at a loose end, back in her home town after the death of her sister, while new Emmy winner Jeff Hiller is a joy to watch as her former schoolmate-turned-BFF Joel.
If ever you find yourself in need of a new show to cheer you up, this is one you should sprint to.

Winner: Best Writing In A Drama Series
Tell me more: Diving deeper still into the Star Wars universe, this TV spin-off is set five years before Rogue One, and reintroduces us to Diego Luna’s character Cassian Andor, who has been forced from his home planet due to the rise of the Galactic Empire.
Andor has gone on to become one of the most widely-praised Star Wars projects ever thanks to its darker tone and prescient themes.

Slow Horses
Winner: Best Directing In A Drama Series
Tell me more: This UK spy thriller has only continued to go from strength to strength since it premiered in 2022, focusing on a very specific division of MI5 made up of failed or disgraced agents.
Led by Gary Oldman, Slow Horses also features break-out performances from its predominantly-British cast, including the likes of Jack Lowden, Sophie Okonedo and Kristin Scott Thomas.

The Traitors
Winner: Best Reality Competition Programme
Tell me more: The chances are you’re already familiar with the hit reality show, in which a group of contestants try to get rid of the “Traitors” among them one by one in a bid to win a split of a hefty cash prize, before they find themselves “murdered” in the night.
Much like the UK version, the US edition has only grown into more and more of a TV behemoth each season, the key differences being that the American version features a host of famous contestants rather than regular people (the latest iteration included Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause, Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari, Zac Efron’s brother Dylan and Drag Race champion Bob The Drag Queen), while Alan Cumming occupies Claudia Winkleman’s slot on hosting duties.
