Stephen Fry reveals one career rule he broke by joining BBC's Celebrity Traitors

Stephen Fry has revealed he broke a personal career rule by signing up to Celebrity Traitors . Claudia Winkleman ’s award-winning murder mystery gameshow is returning with a star-studded edition later this year, before a fourth civilian series returns in January. Joining Blackadder actor Stephen are Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross , Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, Kate Garraway and Cat Burns. Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar and Nick Mohammed complete the line-up with Niko Omilana, Ruth Codd, and Tameka Empson. Ahead of the highly-anticipated series airing this autumn, Stephen teased what fans can expect during an appearance on The One Show. He shared: “It was an extraordinary experience. I always promised myself I’d never be on a reality show but I watched the game and I thought, it’s the most revealing thing I’d ever seen about the human mind. “It’s vulnerability, it’s fragility, it’s failure, can we read people and deceive people? It’s a very basic question from high politics to everyday life that we ask ourselves. And it was a genuine thrill.” Despite calling it a “thrill” while chatting to Alex Jones and Roman Kemp tonight, Stephen previously revealed that being a part of the competition was “agony”. Speaking on The Show People podcast , he said: “It was a bit like a Chinese foot massage. “You know it is absolutely agony, but you sort of want to do it again. It is emotionally violent, but you kind of love it.” He went on: “Obviously, I can’t say a word about what is in this recently recorded celebrity version, I suppose. I am certainly not telling you if I am a traitor or a faithful. I am one or the other. “I was with a fascinating group of people like Jonathan Ross, Tom Daley, Clare Balding and Paloma Faith. They were lovely, an extraordinary bunch.” He added: “I have said no to any number of Strictly’s and Get Me Out of Here’s as it is just not my kind of thing. But this, I watched the first and second series, and it is such a clever game. “It’s so extraordinary what it does to the psychology of the individual. And I just thought it would be really interesting to play it. “And what an opportunity to do so. And that’s what I found.” The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
