Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been granted bail in the sum of GHS50,000.

Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was arrested on September 8, 2025, and charged with publishing false news and offensive conduct likely to disturb the peace, stemming from remarks he allegedly made about the Inspector General of Police.

The bail was granted with a single surety. According to his lead lawyer, Daniel Mantey Addo, Abronye’s health had taken a turn for the worse during his time in custody, making the bail decision a welcome development.

The legal team is now actively working to fulfil the bail conditions to facilitate his prompt release from detention.
