Jessie J provides 'on the mend' cancer update in surprise ITV appearance

Jessie J has said that she’s ‘on the mend’ as she told ITV viewers to ‘look after yourself’ in a surprise appearance. The Price Tag singer has been flooded with support from her fans in recent months after she announced she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Just weeks after she performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium, Jessie had a full mastectomy performed in June. “For those asking for a health update. l am 11 days post surgery. I’m good. Missing being an active Mum / human the most. But it’s been nice to slow down and Sky is having a blast with Nanny and Grandad. It’s still uncomfortable/a little painful but l can handle that. I’m doing my exercises and taking all the healthy things. I have been trying to eat super clean. “I have stopped all pain meds. Just not my thing. I’d also like to feel how it feels so I don’t overdo it.” The mum of two-year-old son Sky, who she shares with her professional basketball player boyfriend Chanan Colman, is set to undergo another surgery later this year. On Wednesday morning (October 15), ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly was once again reminding viewers about her talk show’s Change + Check campaign. Having already launched ‘National Check Your Boobs Day’ on Wednesday, October 1, over 100 women and one man have contacted the show to report that they have received a breast cancer diagnosis as a result of seeing the campaign which launched in 2019. “A familiar face is also supporting our campaign and has a very important message for all of us,” Lorraine said. Speaking in a video, Jessie said: “Well Lorraine, it’s Jessie J here. The Change + Check campaign, let’s talk about why it’s so important. “I know first hand how important it was for me to check and find my breast lump early. It ended up being breast cancer. “I’m now on the mend. I’m calling anybody to check themselves, it’s so important. Love yourself, check your boobs, your armpit just in case.” She added: “If there’s anything there that doesn’t feel perfectly normal, go and get it checked please. Look after yourselves.” Thanking Jessie for her honesty, Lorraine replied: “Aw Jessie, that means a lot.”
