EXCLUSIVE: Vikings: Valhalla star Sam Corlett is set as a lead opposite Christopher Meloni in Hulu’s upcoming untitled Dan Fogelman football drama.
Created and written by Fogelman, the series is set inside the world of the NFL and has a generational family component to it.
Meloni plays the team’s head coach. Corlett is believed to be playing his younger son. In addition to Meloni, Corlett joins previously cast series regulars William H. Macy as the team owner and Mandy Moore as his daughter.
The series, from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, is executive produced by Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal and Kevin Falls. Also executive producing are David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed for Skydance Sports.
Australian actor Corlett played the lead, Leif Erikson, in Vikings: Valhalla, which ran on Netflix for three seasons. He also was part of the main cast of Netflix’s Australian series Territory and recurred on the streamer’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Corlett’s feature credits include Australian indies The Dry opposite Eric Bana and He Aint Heavy. He is repped by Gersh, United Management and Entertainment 360.
