If you’re among the many Brits who’ve pledged to cut down on sugar for your health , don’t fret – you can still enjoy a sweet treat. Just because you’re saying no to sugary snacks doesn’t mean you have to give up desserts entirely. With a few tweaks to your favourite recipes , you can tuck into a satisfying pud without any guilt. One culinary whizz known for his mouth-watering dishes and delectable desserts is none other than Gordon Ramsay. But not all of his sweet creations are packed with saturated fats and sugar, reports the Express . Ramsay’s chocolate mousse recipe features an unexpected ingredient that gives it a creamy consistency without the need for eggs – avocados. This four-ingredient mousse swaps out sugar for honey, meaning it’s free from refined sugars. Honey is packed with antioxidants, which can help improve cholesterol levels. Plus, it raises blood sugar levels more steadily compared to refined sugars. Avocados are hailed as a superfood due to their abundance of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. 1. Pop the avocados into a food processor and blend until they’re smooth and creamy. 2. Then, add three tablespoons of honey along with the vanilla and cacao powder and blend again until everything is fully combined. Have a taste and add more honey if needed. 3. Spoon the mousse into eight shot or sweet wine glasses and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
