Brian Baumgartner (The Office), Cooper Manning and Kenny Mayne need a fourth for their new golf/comedy podcast.
SmartLess Media, SiriusXM and Electric Ave are launching We Need a Fourth, hosted by Baumgartner, the Manning who didn’t play quarterback and Mayne, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. (Cooper Manning was a very good wide receiver coming out of high school, but during his first practices at Ole Miss, Manning was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and had to hang it up. His son Arch Manning is currently the star quarterback at the University of Texas.)

We Need a Fourth will be the world’s “most entertaining golf podcast,” it claims, “diving into the juiciest stories across the world of golf. It’s the podcast version of a round of golf with your best friends, capturing the fun and intimacy that makes this game so addictive.”
Alongside the rise of YouTube Golf, a number of entertaining golf podcasts now exist — so this threesome has their work cut out for them. Not that word of it got back to Kenny Mayne.
“As far as I know, this is probably one of the first golf podcasts ever, so Brian, Cooper and I see ourselves as pioneers,” the former SportsCenter fan fave said in a statement. “Our guest list, on paper, is like a dream team of people we’d want to play with. Of course, it’s closer to a list of people who wouldn’t invite us to play because I refuse to tuck in my shirt. Yes, we will discuss dumb golf things. And great golf things. Because we hate and love golf so much…”
The members’ guests will include Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Eli Manning, Sebastian Maniscalco, Andrew Santino, Michelle Wie West, Eric Stonestreet, Heather McMahan, Austin Hurt, Jay Larson, Jared Freid, Austin Reaves, Fat Perez (of Bob Does Sports), Max Homa and more.
We Need a Fourth will premiere on Monday, Sept. 15, with new episodes releasing every Monday on the SiriusXM app or wherever podcasts are available. We Need a Fourth episodes will also air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET (and replay several times throughout the week) on the SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio channel.
Video of full episodes will appear on the SmartLess Media channel on YouTube.
We Need a Fourth is produced by SmartLess Media and Electric Avenue. Baumgartner, Manning, Mayne and Bailey serve as executive producers, alongside producers Anne Harris and Kyle McGraw, and associate producer Maddie McCann. Marc Forman is an executive producer for Electric Avenue. Executive producers for SmartLess Media include Arnett, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, Richard Korson and Bernie Kaminski.
Arnett, Bateman and Hayes are the founders of SmartLess Media via their own podcast, SmartLess.
