Martin Lewis’ MSE has shared a top tip which could help drivers save up to £605 on their car insurance. Insuring one’s car is a necessary, but costly, process, and failing to do so could cost you £300 in fines and six points on your licence. It can cost thousands for protection, but if your insurance quotes are particularly high, there are measures you can take to try to lower them. The MSE website explained: “It’s far more than just a comparison. You can make huge savings.” One MSE reader, Clare, revealed how she saved £605 by using the tool. She said: “Renewal price quoted was £1,295 but after following your Compare+ comparison site advice I got a suitable policy for £689 – a saving of £605.” Duncan, another reader, managed to save £300. saying: “My 21-year-old son has recently passed his driving test and bought an old car. He was quoted £1,200. “He managed to reduce the premium by nearly £300 by adding me as a named driver.
