Over 1.4 lakh jobs provided through Vijnana Keralam scheme: Minister Rajesh

A total of 1,41,323 job opportunities have been identified and 55,913 women already provided jobs through the Vijnana Keralam programme being implemented by the Kudumbashree, Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh has said.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Rajesh said that Kudumbashree is also launching a project to provide employment to 10,000 women in the State in partnership with Reliance Jio.

Jobs including marketing of digital products and customer care support will be available in the first phase. Reliance will provide training to those selected for the job. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Kudumbashree Executive Director H. Dineshan and Reliance Projects and Property Management Services Limited’s Kerala Business head Hemanth Amborkar in the presence of Mr. Rajesh.

The list of eligible women will be made available to Reliance through the respective Kudumbashree Community Development Societies based on the number of job opportunities. Apart from Reliance, Kudumbashree members have found employment with good wages in many private institutions, said Mr. Rajesh.

As part of the Vijnana Kerala-Kudumbashree Job Campaign, a project has also been launched to identify job opportunities in the field of palliative care and make them available to Kudumbashree members. Kudumbashree is forming a team of trained social care workers across the State to provide scientific home-based care to those who need palliative care in every local body in the State. The aim is to train 50,000 people and provide service to families in need of palliative care at a reasonable cost.
