Amanda Owen has taken a brutal swipe at her ex-husband Clive as she opened up about why the pair remain so firmly ‘intertwined’ against all odds.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess, 51, is the epitome of a working mother. When she is not tending to her flock on the farm, she is homeschooling son Sidney, preparing meals for her nine children or carving out time to pen another book.
Fans of Our Yorkshire Farm frequently quiz Amanda about her relationship with Clive, 70, as the couple continue to parent, work and even film side by side.
While Clive remains at the family farm and Amanda lives just a mile away, their lives are still very much ‘intertwined’.
Any hopes of a romantic reunion, however, are firmly dismissed by the mother-of-nine.
She told Hello Magazine: ‘What am I supposed to say, “We get on like a house on fire?” Well, if we did, we wouldn’t want to separate, would we?

‘He’s still the same annoying old Clive that he always was. I’ve seen him just now, and he’s still annoying – I annoy him, and he annoys me.’
And as for the idea of an outright separation, Amanda insists it is simply not feasible.
‘I mean, how would we even divide that up? It’s just not even happening. Who would get custody of all the sheep and the dogs and the horses, and who would want custody?
‘It’s tricky when businesses and families are so intertwined,’ she continued. ‘Then, there must be a compromise on both sides. It’s my day-to-day life, and that is our situation, and you just have to make it work.’
She explained that although their arrangement might appear unconventional to outsiders, visitors quickly see that it works for the family.
Currently, Amanda and Clive are working together on the renovation of Anty John’s, a derelict farmhouse nearby.
The property is still a work in progress, with the children heavily involved. Amanda said they had been plaster boarding, collecting scrap metal to load onto a trailer and even helping to pick out fixtures from bathroom catalogues.
Filming has also begun for the latest series, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.

Amanda said of her ex: ‘He’s still the same annoying old Clive that he always was. I’ve seen him just now, and he’s still annoying – I annoy him, and he annoys me’
Amanda revealed that some of the children were already mic’d up for filming, and noted that she does not interfere, as she believes in giving them freedom rather than hovering as a ‘helicopter parent’.
Her children may be hands-on with farming and renovation work, but Amanda admitted they show little enthusiasm for her writing.
Speaking about her latest book, Christmas Tales from the Farm, she confessed that it was a challenge to spark their interest, adding that they never marvel at the fact their mother is an author.
Luckily, she added, they are more than willing to pitch in with the farm’s daily demands – and there is always plenty of that to go around.
It comes after Amanda detailed the most recent disagreement she had with Clive – as she spoke candidly about co-parenting their nine children during an appearance on Lorraine last week.
The shepherdess, who rose to fame on Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, joined the ITV chat show to discuss the release of her new book.

Amanda explained that although their arrangement might appear unconventional to outsiders, visitors quickly see that it works for the family

Despite the 19-year age gap, the couple fell in love and tied the knot in 2000 [pictured on their wedding day]

But conversation soon turned to family life and how she and Clive continue to raise their children together following their split in 2022 after more than two decades of marriage.

Amanda then shared an anecdote from earlier that very morning, explaining with a smile that Clive had phoned to complain about her choice of washing up liquid.
She bizarrely said that Clive had fried his eggs in yellow washing up liquid, mistaking it for oil.
She said: ‘He was on the phone this morning. He had fried his eggs in yellow washing up liquid so he was complaining that I shouldn’t buy washing up liquid in yellow – washing up liquid should only be green.’ [So he doesn’t make that mistake].
Lorraine laughed and suggested Clive had mistaken it for cooking oil, to which Amanda replied: ‘Yeah. So you see, we are up against it, but believe me it’s the idea that we’re just getting on with it.’
