Tyson has drawn eyes with his bold fashion choice for the funeral – arriving in a brightly coloured suit and black shirt. The suit appears to be decorated with pictures of himself. Images printed on the suit show Tyson crowned on a throne, as well as wedding day illustrations of the boxer and his wife, Paris. The images appear to be in a stained glass window style, and also feature scenes of him in the boxing ring, as well as alongside his children. The cortège is making a two-hour journey from Tameside to Manchester city centre , spanning more than 15 miles, and passing several important spots in Ricky’s life and career – led by an Only Fools and Horses car. The procession’s first stop was one of his local pubs, The Cheshire Cheese in Gee Cross, at around 9.45am. It then headed to the Harehill Tavern, in Hattersley, where Ricky, known by nicknames like ‘The Hitman’, ‘The Pride of Hyde ’, and ‘The People’s Champion’ grew up. After there, it went to the former New Inn pub, on Mottram New Road, which Ricky’s parents once ran and where they built him a boxing gym in the basement. It then passed through Hyde town centre, pausing at the gym he founded, now called Energie Fitness Hyde Ricky Hatton. It then passed Hyde town hall before heading to Denton , passing Betta Bodies gym, where Ricky often trained, along Hyde Road and into the city centre. Following the Manchester Cathedral service, the cortège will leave at around 1.15pm with Ricky making one final trip to the Etihad Stadium.
