Debenhams shoppers have been raving about a dress that attracts compliments and comes in the perfect colours for all sorts of autumn and winter events. Fans say they adore the “flattering” shape it offers, and the design adds “a touch of luxury” without costing a fortune.

The Gold Foil Lace Trim Long Sleeve Midi Dress was initially £52, but has been reduced to £41.60. It’s available in four different colour choices—burgundy red, navy, black, and green—all of which benefit from the 20% reduction.

Each option is featured separately on the Debenhams website, but customers can use the above links to find every style. The design features “timeless” hints of gold throughout the pattern, which is said to bring “a touch of luxury to your look”.

Debenhams bosses also claim that the long sleeves and midi length provide “an air of refinement, making it perfect for formal occasions or special evenings out.” Similar dresses are available, such as this Yumi Blue Foil Print Midi Dress from Next, which costs £65.

Alternatively, there’s this Black Star Foil Print Frill Dress at Roman for £38. However, the online department store has received many glowing reviews from people who have purchased the Debenhams dress for themselves, reports the Daily Record.

One said: “When I opened the package, I thought it would be a flimsy dress, but after putting it on, it’s fantastic. I bought size XXL, and I weigh 105kg. The dress has a beautiful slimming effect and is made of great material. I’ll definitely wear it every chance I get.”

Another customer said: “The dress is so beautiful and fits perfectly. I just love it!” A third shared: “I wore it to my daughter’s wedding [and got] lots of compliments.”

A third wrote: “Super comfy and pretty dress – was perfect for Christmas Day and other fun occasions. Would also be great in the summer as it’s floaty and fun.”

However, a few customers had some criticisms. One said: “Nice dress but I ordered large and it is really small on top. Disappointed. I had to return it.” Another customer had a similar issue, noting: “Top is far too small for this dress size. It didn’t fit me.”

And, a third suggested: “Horrible cheap fabric. Did not even want to try on!” But, overall, most women who left a review had nothing but praise for it.

There was one lady who said: “Very nice dress, cut at the breast is perfect and not too low as other similar dresses. Nice stretch on the waist, so it fits perfect!” Another added: “Beautiful dress. A good, true-to-size fit. I got a lot of compliments when I wore it.”

And, one more said: “Loved this in the advert, loved it in-person and loved it on me! I loved the colours on me, warm and glowing. The dress fit perfectly, hiding lumps and bumps.”
