Central Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan instructed officials to expedite white topping and road repair works across key city stretches, ensuring minimal inconvenience to vehicular traffic. Damaged surfaces at K.R. Circle were flagged for priority repair, while Race Course Road and Chalukya Circle were directed to undergo patchwork and surface repair. Mr. Cholan instructed the Horticulture Department to plant saplings along these stretches.
North Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar inspected Veerannapalya and the surrounding areas. The commissioner addressed irregular garbage collection complaints and instructed officials to ensure daily door-to-door garbage collection. Night patrols were ordered to identify and penalise people littering streets.
Mr. Kumar later chaired a meeting with engineers and contractors, directing urgent completion of pothole repairs, road maintenance, white topping, and other development works. He emphasised joint coordination with other departments for work on service roads of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Goraguntepalya to K.R. Puram, scheduled for September 26-27 during early morning hours.
East Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh on Tuesday led a pedestrian encroachment clearance drive and a cleanliness campaign from Iblur Junction to Tin Factory. The commissioner directed officials to work with BMRCL to remove debris and garbage along metro pillars and railway tracks.
Mr. Ramesh asked officials to prepare ward-level micro plans to identify and prioritize local issues for better outcomes. An action plan for night-time cleaning of market areas was directed by the Additional Commissioner (Development).
Several temporary shops were found encroaching on footpaths along the stretch. Mr. Ramesh instructed authorities to issue notices, levy fines, and clear the encroachments promptly. Vacant plots that were found unclean were also flagged, with property owners given notices to maintain hygiene. A private hospital was also flagged for discharging water directly onto the road, leading to potholes. Officials were instructed to issue a notice to the hospital and ensure the construction of a soak pit for water reuse.
