Reba McEntire is getting married.
The country music icon and longtime boyfriend Rex Linn are now engaged, according to People Magazine. McEntire, 70, and Linn, 68, have been dating since 2020, but they first met back in the 1990s.
People cited a source as saying that the engagement “happened a few months ago and they are very happy.”
McEntire revealed how she and Linn reconnected following her mother’s death.
“In 2020, when mama got sick, he called me,” she told Today in 2021. “We’d gotten to see each other before because we’re both on ‘Young Sheldon.’ So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and visiting and finally got together, see each other in June.
“And we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since.”
And earlier this year she opened up more about the relationship with Fox News.
“He’s a better cook than I am, so I like that, for sure,” she said. “We have Longhorns, we love the cowboy way of life, cowgirl way of life, and we both got into the entertainment industry.
“He’s an actor. I’m a singer. I love to act. Now we act together.”
Linn currently stars on McEntire’s sitcom “Happy’s Place.”
“We are best friends,” he said in an interview with WBIR Channel 10. “We wanna cross the finish line with each other in a relationship.”
The tip-off on the engagement apparently came on the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday when the two were referred to as fiancés by an E! News reporter.
