Eagles Get Massive Jalen Carter Injury Update for Giants Game

Eagles Get Massive Jalen Carter Injury Update for Giants Game

On Thursday night, the Philadelphia Eagles face the New York Giants in an early-season battle between division rivals. Both teams enter the game off losses, as the Giants lost to the New Orleans Saints and the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season to the Denver Broncos.
For some fans, the Eagles’ loss served as an early wake-up call, alerting the team to key issues they needed to address before facing tougher competition this season.
The Giants aren’t necessarily tougher competition, but they may be hungry for another win, as they’re just 1-4 this season. Sunday’s loss was a disappointing 26-14 defeat at the hands of the Saints.
They’ll host the Super Bowl champions in a tough matchup, but Philadelphia will be without at least one key member of their defense. Headline maker Jalen Carter was a surprise addition to the Eagles’ injury report this week, as he was unable to practice fully.

Ahead of kickoff for the “Thursday Night Football” game, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the unfortunate news that Carter is inactive for tonight’s game against the New York Giants.
Carter joined the team’s injury report on Wednesday due to a heel injury. Before that, Carter dealt with a shoulder injury. The 2024 Pro Bowler made headlines after his first-quarter incident involving spitting on opponent Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys. That resulted in an NFL fine for Carter amounting to $57,222.
His absence is a significant one for tonight’s game. In the team’s 21-17 loss to the Broncos, Carter had one solo tackle, four combined tackles, and one quarterback hit.
Earlier today, NBC Sports reported that the Eagles elevated defensive tackle Gable Hall from the practice squad ahead of the final status update for Carter.
In addition to Carter, the Eagles ruled out offensive guard Landon Dickerson because of an ankle injury and tight end Grant Calcaterra due to an oblique injury.
The team previously listed Linebacker Nakobe Dean as questionable with Carter. He was eligible for activation from PUP once the team determined he could play. According to Reuters, he’ll make his debut in Thursday night’s game against the Giants.
