Pharrell to open pop-up shop Friday and offer swim lessons Saturday

Celebrity, music star, fashionista and Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams is coming home this weekend.
The reason for his visit is a “community celebration in Virginia Beach,” according to a news release, that will include a pop-up shop selling Pharrell-related gear and a youth-focused swim event at Atlantic Park Surf.
The pop-up gift shop is open to the public 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 332 20th St. in Atlantic Park, according to Pharrell’s social media post. The news release said Williams would be making an appearance there around 4:30 p.m. Friday. The store will be stocked with limited-edition merchandise related to Williams’ new brand, called Virginia, and two new color combinations of Williams’ Adidas shoes, the Adistar Jellyfish.
On Saturday, the surf park will host an event for children and their families as part of its newly launched Next Wave program. Williams plans to visit with youth who will receive free swim and surf lessons that promote water safety and access to aquatic sports.
