Critics cringed hard over what was slammed as a “creepy” exchange between President Donald Trump and a self-described recovering “Trump Derangement Syndrome” sufferer during a White House roundtable on Trump’s favorite boogeyman, Antifa, on Wednesday.
Brandi Kruse, a conservative content creator from Seattle, told Trump she was “living proof that you can recover” from so-called “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” which isn’t an official medical diagnosis but just a partisan insult that Trump fans often derogatorily hurl at critics of the president.
“I had strong ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ for probably eight years,” Kruse claimed to the president.
But “it’s much better to not have ‘TDS,‘” she told him. “I’m happier, I’m healthier, more successful. I even think I got a little more attractive after I got rid of my ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’”

The moment went viral on social media, prompting former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan to write: “I’m glad I didn’t eat lunch today or I’d have thrown it up by now.”
Other commentators called the moment “insane,” the perfect source material for a mocking skit on Saturday Night Live, “so embarrassing,” and further proof that the MAGA movement operates like a cult.
