President Donald Trump said he’s heading to Walter Reed General Hospital on Friday for his semi-annual physical.
He shared the news during an unrelated news conference at the White House on Thursday afternoon.
I’m meeting with the troops and I’m also going to do sort of a semi-annual physical, which I do,” Trump told reporters. “I think I’m in great shape, but I’ll let you know.”
He added that he doesn’t have any difficulties, saying he feels great both physically and mentally.
In July, for two symptoms, as he was experiencing “mild” swelling in his legs and bruising on the back of one of his hands, according to his staff.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously said Trump sought the advice of the White House medical unit, who then performed laboratory tests. As for his legs, she said he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which she described as a benign and common condition in people who are over the age of 70.
She said the findings show “the president remains in excellent health.”
All results were within normal limits,” she said during the summertime, noting that the concern was “thoroughly evaluated” out of an abundance of caution.
An echocardiogram was also performed and confirmed normal cardiac structure and function. No signs of heart failure, renal impairment or systemic illness were identified,” she added.
