Dodgers vs. Phillies: The matchup
The Phillies clawed their way back into the series on Wednesday with an 8-2 victory in Game 3, surging with a three-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth by roughing up Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw in a relief role. Kyle Schwarber launched two of the Phils’ three homers in the game, his first two long balls of the playoff season, while Ranger Suarez delivered five strong innings of relief work to pick up the win and help Philadelphia fend off elimination. Five of the top six hitters in Philadelphia’s lineup logged at least two hits in a timely 12-hit effort by a team fighting for its collective playoff life.

The Phillies now stand a game away from sending the series back to Philadelphia for a winner-take-all Game 5, but plenty of work is left to be done. Philadelphia is a slight underdog (+110) in Game 4 with ace lefty Cristopher Sanchez (13-5, 2.50 ERA) set to take the ball with the season on the line. The Dodgers (-130) will start righty Tyler Glasnow (4-3, 3.19 ERA), who allowed four baserunners in 1.2 innings of relief work in Game 1 of the series.
