A drug dealer has been jailed following an investigation into the sale of heroin and crack cocaine in a North Wales city. Ross Keegan was arrested by officers from Merseyside Police’s fugitive team in Wrexham.
Officers found Keegan was controlling the “Scouse Kane line”, which supplied hard drugs in the North Wales city. Keegan, 20, of Rennell Road in Knotty Ash, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, September 19 where he was sentenced to three years in a young offenders institution.
He was also issued a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order to only own or use one mobile phone and not to enter Wrexham.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson added: “Keegan’s sentencing is in relation to an investigation by Merseyside Police where officers from the Fugitive team arrested him in Wrexham in July in relation to an outstanding warrant resulting in his initial incarceration in prison.
“The investigation continued into Keegan’s activities, and, on the 14 August, he was charged with two counts of concerned in supply of Class A drugs where he pleaded guilty.
“Under Operation Toxic, Merseyside Police were investigating what drug dealers referred to as the ‘Scouse Kane line’ which operated in the Wrexham area and identified Keegan as the controller of this county line which supplied crack cocaine and heroin.”
Detective Sergeant Shaun McNee of Operation Toxic/County Lines Investigations added: “The investigation quickly showed that Keegan controlled the Scouse Kane line where he peddled crack cocaine and heroin on the streets of Wrexham.
“We are pleased that this investigation has disrupted the chain of supply and taken a significant quantity of drugs off the streets and further afield.
“Organised crime is hugely damaging to our communities, often involving intimidation, violence and creating fear and it is these criminals who run County Lines.
“Criminals involved in organised crime have no thought for anyone other than themselves, and their criminal intent and greed.
“Project Medusa is dedicated to cutting these County Lines dead and taking those who operate them off our streets and working with partners to help those who may be exploited by these gangs.”
