Jamie Lee Curtis has broken down on a podcast while discussing the death of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was visiting Utah Valley University with his wife and kids last week as part of his group’s ‘America Comeback Tour’ when he was shot in the neck in front of horrified students.

It was announced soon after the shooting that Kirk had been killed, with the nation divided by the controversial right-wing activist’s death.

Various celebrities have spoken out about his death, and now the Freakier Friday star has shared her two cents about his assassination.

‘I’m going to bring something up with you just because it’s front of mind. Charlie Crist was killed two days ago,’ she said on Monday’s new episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.

Maron corrected Curtis, ‘Kirk, not Crist.’

She quickly corrected herself: ‘Sorry, Kirk. I just call him Crist, I think, because of Christ, because of his deep belief.’

The actor has been an outspoken democrat for many years, and became emotional as she spoke about the activist’s killing of the 31-year-old in front of students and his children.

‘I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith,’ she said as her voice broke. ‘And I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith.”

She started to cry as she added: ‘Even though I find what he, his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith.

‘And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.’

She also spoke about her concerns about the footage of his death, which went viral and showed Kirk being shot in the neck.

‘I know there is video of his assassination. I know people who’ve seen it.

She then referred to 9/11 as she said: ‘Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So, we don’t know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those Towers come down over and over and over and over again.’

‘I’m associated with this awful day of someone being assassinated on television,” she said then of President John F Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, that she fears we have become “inured” to such violent images.

‘We are numb to them, but they are in there. We don’t know, we don’t know enough psychologically about what that does. What does that do? That kind of — I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot.’

Celebrities have come under fire for their comments about Kirk in recent weeks.

Rap duo Bob Vylan’s Netherlands concert was cancelled after they made comments on stage about Kirk’s assassination.

Bobby – real name Pascal Robinson-Foster – told the crowd at Amsterdam’s Paradiso before a song: ‘I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of s**t of a human being.’

‘The pronouns was/were. Because if you talk s**t, you will get banged,’ he declared.

‘Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk, you piece of s**t.’

Coldplay also came under fire last week as the frontman, Chris Martin, suggested fans could send love to Kirk’s family following his death.
