Maximum injustices to Dalit families, SC leaders during Jagan’s regime: TDP MLA

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA of Rajam Kondru, Murali Mohan alleged on Thursday that the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government had done significant injustice to Dalit families by halting nearly 27 schemes and funds for the A.P. Scheduled Caste Corporation, which used to provide financial assistance to the downtrodden communities for their livelihood through self employment schemes.

Alongside Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathi Raju, Mr. Murali Mohan garlanded a statue of B. R. Ambedkar at Balaji junction, Vizianagaram and addressed the media conference.

He alleged that the YSCRP leaders and activists were responsible for burning the B. R. Ambedkar statue in Vedurukuppam village, Chittoor district. He accused former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of denying livelihood opportunities to Scheduled Caste (SC) youth by halting schemes and funds.

He said that the YSRCP government targeted SC leaders, officials, doctors and professions. He cited the case of Dr. Sudhakar from Narsipatnam, who faced harassment for highlighting the poor infrastructure in government hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Murali Mohan said: “Dr. Sudhakar died of humiliation. Mr. Jagan before visiting Narasipatnam and shedding crocodile tears over the development of government medical college under public-private-partnership, should have apologised to Dr. Sudhakar’s family.”

Mr. Murali Mohan served as Minister for Medical and Health during Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy regime in United Andhra Pradesh. Several TDP leaders Rongali Potanna, Mylapilli Pydiraju and others were present at the event.
