North Lanarkshire’s Cultural Committee celebrating Black History Month

North Lanarkshire’s Cultural Committee is inviting people to join in the celebrations for Black History Month. The event will take place at Jerviston Community Centre in Motherwell on Saturday, October 4, from 10.30am to 3pm. It promises a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with live entertainment, children’s activities, and delicious food from a variety of cultures. It’s a chance for the whole community to come together, learn, and celebrate the rich contributions of ethnic minority communities to society. Councillor Ayeshah Khan, North Lanarkshire’s Equalities Champion, said: “Black History Month is a time to honour the achievements, culture and history of ethnic minority communities. “Events like this help us build understanding and celebrate the diversity that makes North Lanarkshire stronger.” Everyone is welcome, and entry is free.
