Flames Set for Possibles vs Probables Clash After Equatorial Guinea Match Cancellation

Football fans are in for a treat this evening as the Flames Possibles take on the Probables in a high-intensity training match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

The Malawi National Football Team has organised the game following the cancellation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Equatorial Guinea, who failed to travel to Malawi.

Head Coach Callisto Pasuwa will use the friendly as part of the team’s preparations for the final World Cup Qualifier match against São Tomé and Príncipe, set for Monday in Tunisia.

The Possibles, coached by Pasuwa himself, comprise players who were expected to start against Equatorial Guinea. Meanwhile, the Probables, under the guidance of Assistant Coach Peter Mponda, consist of the reserve squad members eager to prove their worth.

Fans who already purchased tickets for the cancelled Equatorial Guinea match will be allowed to use the same tickets to watch tonight’s game. Those who opt not to attend can retain their tickets and use them for the upcoming Malawi Women’s National Team WAFCON Qualifier against Angola or another future Flames home fixture.
