Leisure centre pool reopens after car ‘accidentally’ drives into building

A leisure centre pool has reopened after being closed for over a week. The swimming pool at the Vivacity Leisure Centre in Hampton, Peterborough, has been closed since the weekend of September 27 and 28.

This was after a “car accidentally drove into one of the windows on the poolside”, as stated in a previous email seen by CambridgeshireLive. As a result, there was “serious damage to the side of the building and fire exit door”.

Initially the health suite, which includes a sauna and steam room, was closed but this reopened on Wednesday, October 1. The swimming pool has reopened today (Thursday, October 9).

In an email to members, also seen by CambridgeshireLive, it said: “We are pleased to inform you that the pool at Premier Fitness has now re-opened. Thank you for your patience and once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
