Boy injured after road accident in centre of village

A child was injured after being struck by a car today in the centre of Cheadle village. The incident happened on Councillor Lane. Greater Manchester Police said a 16-year-old boy, a pedestrian, has been involved in a collision with a car. Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 2.30pm today (Wednesday, September 10). Police said the boy has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be serious. No arrests have been made and roads have been reopened.
