Galaxy Z TriFold Will Sport Three Batteries, With Various Patent Images Revealing Its Slim Design When Completely Unfolded
Samsung continues to remain mum on the launch of its first tri-fold flagship, the Galaxy Z TriFold, so we have had to rely on a multitude of leaks and rumors to learn more about the device. On this occasion, a series of patent images reveal that the smartphone will be equipped with three batteries and will be extraordinarily slim when it is completely unfolded to transform into a tablet, so let us take a look at those images in more detail.
The three batteries housed in the Galaxy Z TriFold have different sizes, which may affect the device’s overall capacity
The folks over at GalaxyClub stumbled upon a Samsung patent filed in South Korea that showcases the various internal components and design of the Galaxy Z TriFold. One of the images below clearly shows that there are two hinge mechanisms present to keep all three pieces together, while also keeping the smartphone properly folded without leaving a gap between the panels.
You can probably also spot the three rectangular batteries present in each part of the Galaxy Z TriFold’s innards, with the area housing the highest number of cameras sporting the smallest cell due to space constraints. The difference in size could mean that Samsung could compromise on the overall capacity, and there is no confirmation if the Korean giant will transition to silicon-carbon technology.
The report says that the overall capacity will easily exceed 5,000mAh, making it higher than the battery running in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Also right in the center of the device, we can spot what appears to be a vapor chamber, and given that the Galaxy Z TriFold will likely ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it requires adequate cooling to maintain peak performance.
In another image, we see exactly how sleek the Galaxy Z TriFold is, which was necessary because it should not encumber the user when he or she folds the smartphone to engage it with a single hand.
