Trump's chances of winning Nobel Peace Prize surge before announcement

The odds-on President Trump winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize have surged after Israel and Hamas agreed to a U.S. backed Gaza peace plan, and he is now the second favorite, according to a leading bookmaker.
Star Sports is currently offering odds of 3/1 (25 percent) on Trump securing the award behind only Sudan’s Emergency Response Room with 2/1 (33.3 percent).
They are followed by Doctors Without Borders on 5/1 and Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of deceased Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny with 11/2 (15.4 percent).
By contrast, on October 3, when it was unclear whether Trump’s Gaza peace plan would be accepted, his odds of winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize with Star Sports were just 5/1 (16.7 percent).
The winner of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize is due to be announced on Friday.
Speaking to Newsweek, Star Sports political betting analyst William Kedjanyisaid said: “The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced tomorrow and we’ve seen a flurry of late support for Donald Trump in the past 24 hours, following the seemingly imminent Gaza peace deal.
“It’s no surprise that Trump is now 3/1 and may even shorten further as the day goes on. For those getting on board the Trump train, one key fact that needs to be taken into account is that much of the voting may have already taken place. The committee met earlier this month and then work towards a unanimous decision. Trump will be in that conversation as he’s been nominated but there’s a chance the committee won’t want to give in to any external political pressure, and he may not be viewed favorably by the panel.”
This is a developing story and will be updated.
