The Black Stars of Ghana are set for a defining showdown on Sunday, October 12, as they host Comoros in their final Group I qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, with a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup hanging in the balance.

Fresh off a resounding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in Meknes, Morocco, Otto Addo’s side enters the clash with renewed confidence, tactical cohesion, and a nation rallying behind them.

Ghana now sits atop of Group I with 22 points and the final showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium will be very crucial for the Black Stars as they they will need at least a draw to confirm qualification.

The tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, would mark Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, following campaigns in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.

Ghana’s dominant display against CAR featured goals from:

The atmosphere in Accra is building to fever pitch, with thousands of fans expected to pack the stadium in hopes of witnessing a historic qualification moment.

“This is more than football — it’s national pride, legacy, and the dream of global glory,” said a GFA spokesperson.
