Couple wanted for £60k roles on Isle of Mull, complete with three-bedroom garden cottage

A chance for a couple to relocate to a picturesque Scottish island for employment has emerged. The positions come with a three-bedroom cottage featuring its own garden.

Presently, a “beautiful estate” on the Isle of Mull is seeking to recruit two individuals. The pair will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the estate, along with its holiday rentals.

Based on the job advert on Greycoat Lumleys, the positions will require 40 hours of work weekly. The wage for these roles is stated as £60,000.

The primary benefit of the positions is the “charming” three-bedroom cottage with a garden situated within the estate that comes included. Utility costs and council tax will be the responsibility of the workers.

Furthermore, the staff members will have access to an estate vehicle for professional use. Instruction will be given for any necessary aspects of the roles, reports the Daily Record.

Amongst the duties of the chosen candidates will be greeting and receiving guests and the weekly maintenance of properties, including washing services. Meanwhile, the procurement of household items and provisions must also be undertaken.

Additional responsibilities include running ground maintenance equipment and property repairs. The workers will also be charged with water system upkeep and timber cutting.

Moreover, the roles will encompass various horticultural duties. The estate features a walled kitchen garden, with weeding, grass cutting, strimming, and chainsaw operations all necessary.

The role also includes a number of “non-essential” tasks such as boat duties and maintenance, livestock management, and salmon river management.

According to the Greycoat Lumleys website, these positions present a “fantastic opportunity to run a successful business”. The estate is described as boasting “beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting”.

In their downtime, the new hires will have plenty to explore on Mull. The island’s main town, Tobermory, offers a variety of shops and restaurants, while beauty spots like the Eas Fors Waterfall and Langamull Beach are not to be missed.

The job listing reads: “This beautiful estate located on the Isle of Mull is looking for an Experienced Couple with passion and commitment to live within the estate and run its operations. The individuals will be responsible for the day to day running of the estate and its holiday let properties.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to run a successful business with the very highest standards and beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting.”

Greycoat Lumleys further adds: “The individuals have the use of an estate vehicle for their duties and will be provided with any training required to perform the duties of their roles. These positions are not short-term roles, hence living and working on the island must suit the lifestyle of the applicants.”

The job listing states that applications will close “as soon as the right candidate is found”.
