‘Spotlight’ musical show to support Jasmine returns

‘Spotlight’ musical show to support Jasmine returns

Many of Cayman’s most talented singers and dancers will once again take the stage to raise funds for the Jasmine Palliative & Hospice Care facility when the renowned ‘Spotlight’ musical concert series returns for three performances this month.

This year’s theme, Spotlight on Memories – A Musical Journey Through the Decades, presents a musical journey from the 1960s to the 2010s, bringing back timeless and unforgettable hit songs.

Performances will take place at the Harquail Theatre on 17 and 18 Oct. at 7pm and on 19 Oct. at 5pm.

Much of the cast in last year’s ‘Spotlight on Hollywood’ show will return for this year’s performance.

“Our cast love to perform in support of Jasmine,” said Producer Kerrie McMillan in a press release. “Many have witnessed firsthand the services Jasmine offers to the community and the impact those services have on so many families.”

Jasmine is the Cayman Islands’ only palliative and hospice care provider, dedicated to ensuring dignity, comfort and support for patients and families facing life-limiting illness. Through community events like Spotlight concerts, Jasmine raises essential funds to provide compassionate care at no cost to those who need it.

Presented in collaboration with the University College of the Cayman Islands dancers and the Singrays a cappella group, this year’s production is presented in celebration of World Hospice & Palliative Care Day, a global day of awareness and advocacy organised by the Worldwide Hospice and Palliative Care Alliance. This annual day of recognition began as Voices for Hospices, a series of concerts held around the world, and has since evolved into a broader international observance to recognise the importance of hospice and palliative care.

Now in its 20th year, the alliance continues that legacy under the 2025 theme, ‘Achieving the Promise: Universal Access to Palliative Care’, calling for the integration of palliative care into all health systems.

Tickets for the performances are CI$35 for adults and CI$15 for students and are available at Eventpro.ky.
