Osun State Police Command has arrested 17 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists. Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Gotan, said: “We are tackling criminals and showing them the way to the correctional Centre.
“Police Anti-Robbery operatives arrested five suspected armed robbers in their hideouts in Osogbo and Gwagwalada in Abuja, and recovered four vehicles and seven handsets. Prompt Response Unit (PRU) stormed hideout of armed robbers at Isale General, state, arrested three cultists belonging to Alora-Vankins Confraternity.
“The Anti-Cultism Unit while on township patrol at Arikalamu, Osogbo, raided hideout where one notorious cultist was arrested. Another suspect, 28-year-old, was arrested as a member of the Aiye Confraternity who invaded Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke. Operatives arrested a suspect for impersonation and unlawful possession of firearms. We recovered N9.5million, one unlicensed single barrel gun with one empty shell, one long sword, one MI wireless speaker, two camouflage military shirts, one pair of military boots, one iPhone, one ITEL phone, one big face mask, two motorcycles, one red Golf saloon vehicle Reg no KTU 406AR.
“Operatives of Ikire Division arrested a suspect in Apomu and recovered N8.1million from him. Area Command Ikire, arrested four suspects for conspiracy and stealing. A sum of N1.3million was forcefully collected around Olunde area, Ibadan.
