Tom Brady Doesn't Hold Back in Message to Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers notched their fourth victory of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday, traveling to Seattle’s Lumen Field for a 38-35 victory over the Seahawks.

Mayfield put together yet another impressive performance in the Week 5 win, completing 29 of his 33 pass attempts for 379 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The veteran quarterback is fourth on the NFL’s 2025 passing list with 1,283 yards, trailing only Matthew Stafford, Dak Prescott and Daniel Jones.

Each week, Fox Sports analyst Tom Brady updates his personal NFL power rankings, an the legendary NFL quarterback put his former Tampa Bay squad in the No. 3 spot following Sunday’s road victory over the Seahawks.

“I see you, Baker. Talking that [expletive],” Brady said. “You go, man. When you play like that, you can always talk that [expletive].”

Mayfield is notorious for his trash-talking abilities — and they were on full display against the Seahawks this past weekend. Before the Buccaneers ran out of the tunnel at Lumen Field, Mayfield and his teammates were chirped by some Seattle fans.

“You’ll be real quiet at halftime,” Mayfield responded in the viral clip.

The Buccaneers are 4-1 to start the season, holding a dominant lead in the NFC South. Mayfield has 1,283 yards, 10 touchdowns and just one interception with a 65.1 completion percentage through the first five games of the season. Despite an injury for veteran wide receiver Mike Evans, Mayfield has found an elite pass-catching weapon in rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka.

Tampa Bay has a tough schedule ahead. This weekend, the Bucs will matchup against the 4-1 San Francisco 49ers. In Week 8, they’ll meet on the field for a primetime “Monday Night Football” clash against the Detroit Lions: the No. 1 team in Brady’s power rankings.
