Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is lining up a lot of star power before leaving office, emceeing a business conference with heavy hitters like President Donald Trump , soccer legend Lionel Messi , Hollywood star Will Smith and hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin .
Since 2017, the America Business Forum was a relatively sleepy conference in Uruguay, about as far from Miami as you can get in the Americas. But Suarez became president of the event’s board and helped bring it to Miami. Other names from the business, entertainment and sports world include JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon and retired tennis champion Rafael Nadal , according to a press release.
