    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 crosses over 5 million copies sold

    Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to be one of the most beloved indie gaming darlings of 2025, and its sales continue to prove it. The game just crossed over five million units sold. As a special thanks, Sandfall Interactive is preparing an update that will bring all sorts of new content to the game, including new areas to adventure through and fresh bosses to challenge.

    Sandfall Interactive shared the details of Clair Obsur’s latest sales milestone and the upcoming update on social media. The devs began by thanking players and fans for all of their support:

    In April we released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.5 months later, we’ve sold 5 million copies worldwide!Since then, your artwork, your stories, your cosplays and your endless creativity has been loved and appreciated by all of us.And for that we cannot thank you enough. pic.twitter.com/3AAou4DECR

    Sandfall goes on to say that they will be trying to thank players anyways, and that thanks will come in the form of a free content update. The update will contain the following additional features and upgrades:

    A new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to a brand-new location with new enemy encounters and surprises to discover.
    Challenging, new boss battles for late-game players to overcome.
    New costumes for each member of the Expedition, giving even more customization options for players throughout their adventure.
    New text and UI game localizations into Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total number of supported languages to 19.
    And more to come…

    It sounds like even if players have finished the game, there will be fun new surprises in store for them once this update launches. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was one of our favorite RPGs this year and a strong contender for GOTY.
