Coatbridge town centre to host Christmas event including lights switch-on

A fabulous festive event is coming to Coatbridge town centre. This year’s Christmas cracker on November 29 is funded by Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board, with support from North Lanarkshire Council . Starting at 11am, you can get creative with Christmas arts and crafts – and design your own bauble to hang on the community Christmas tree. From 1pm, Santa will be in his grotto ready to hear your Christmas wishes. There will also be fun stalls with games and prizes. Enjoy cotton candy, popcorn or toffee apples, kindly provided by M&D’s. At 2pm, Heart Radio will take over the main stage with live entertainment from local performers and competitions with great prizes. And at 5pm, the Christmas lights and tree will be switched on – don’t miss the countdown as organisers “need your voice to help light up the town”. Thanks to Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board, everything is completely free, with all activities “powered by festive cheer”. Keep an eye on the council’s My Coatbridge channels on Facebook and X for updates, and if you’d like to perform on the main stage, email Jonathan at coatbridgetownplan@northlan.gov.uk *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
