Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham revealed that she’d love to see Gabby acting alongside Carla Connor in the ITV soap crossover. Actress Rosie Bentham made her Emmerdale debut as Gabby Thomas back in 2016 after replacing the previous actress, Annelise Manojlovic. During her time in the Dales, Gabby has been unlucky in love. After her one-night stand with Jamie Tate led to her falling pregnant with son Thomas, two years later she found love with Nicky Miligan. Preparing to walk down the aisle, Gabby was left heartbroken when he told her he couldn’t be with her anymore. He later left the Dales with boyfriend Suni Sharma. Recently, her friendship with Vinny Dingle blossomed into much more, and while the couple had their doubts at first they’ve since become engaged. Of course, in soap world Gabby’s relationship with Vinny has come under fire as Vinny started to question his sexuality following a near kiss with close friend Kammy Hadiq. Since then, he met up with someone called Mike from an online chat room thinking he was safe to offload his worries. Unfortunately, Mike targeted men like Vinny and horrifically beat him up while demanding money from him. Vinny has kept this quiet from Gabby, but opened up to Kammy who jumped into action to defend his friend. With their wedding coming up, Emmerdale confirmed that both Vinny and Gabby are hiding secrets from each other, and with the return of Bernice Blackstock around the corner, how long will they stay secrets? However, all the Emmerdale drama will have to stay put soon when they join forces with Coronation Street in their first crossover episode. While there’s minimal details available so far, Rosie was quizzed by Inside Soap on which Weatherfield resident she’d love to work with. The actress answered: “I can’t say I’m an avid Corrie watcher, but I think there’s a character, Carla, I feel like she’s always involved in the big messy plots with secrets and romance. I think she’s got quite a lot to do with kind of business opportunities. “It would be quite fun to see them, but I can’t wait for the crossover. It’s gonna be so, so exciting and it’s just a cocktail of characters. It’s going to be great.” Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
