Manchester United have announced a three-year extension with Canon Medical Systems. United have used Canon Medical for 12 years as part of daily medical operations at Carrington. The company provides cardiac, musculoskeletal (MSK) and general sports medicine imaging, supporting the health and performance of the men’s, women’s, and academy players. The three-year extension will see potential upgrades to the existing range of MRI, ultrasound and healthcare IT systems, as well as the integration of new research-led initiatives at the club. The new agreement proposes research into injury detection and monitoring, as well as sex-based differences in injury patterns, with the data showing ACL injuries are more common for women.
