Dolly Parton update after sister's prayer request 'blown out of proportion'

Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, sent fans into a frenzy earlier this week after she asked supporters to pray for her sister’s welfare. The younger sister of the country music icon said she had been “up all night praying” for Dolly, who has just recently cancelled her winter Caesars’ Palace show. However, Dolly’s manager has now addressed concerns from supporters with an update on why she has had to take time off work. It was revealed the 79-year-old was forced to take a step back after a battle with severe kidney stones, with her English manager Olly Rowland confirming the update posted by Freida “got blown quite a bit out of proportion.” READ MORE: Every common type of ladybird in Britain as swarms invade UK He said: “It’s just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those. It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly.” Panic amongst fans was raised after Freida posted a worrying message on Facebook where she wrote: “Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.” After Mr Rowland was forced to intervene in the situation, Freida issued a statement saying she “didn’t mean to scare anyone,” the Mirror reported. She said: “I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious. She’s been a little under the weather and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. “It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.” Dolly previously confirmed she would be postponing her Vegas residency in a post to supporters on Instagram on September 29. She wrote: “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”
