Reader Opinion: All gun victims, not just Charlie, matter, by Kath Allen

Badgering and refusing to talk does not stop. A man approached us with ongoing extended middle finger expelled at us while saying we did not care about Charlie Kirk.

I asked him about the children being shot in the schools. He reverted back to Charlie with no response to the children.

He continued with telling us we should be home, not out in public.

I guess we were bothering his conscience. Why scream at women who are standing for Black Lives Matter? It has nothing to do with Charlie except guns that are being used to kill others when someone will not allow themselves to commit suicide as a solo journey or a get-even-with-society response.

Charlie was pushing for the extreme right of religion to rule our government and our lives. And pushing for gender control of women staying home and giving up their power. Both of these are not acceptable.

No, Charlie should not have been killed via a man holding a gun. Nor should our children be killed while being in buildings of education. Theaters, churches, clubs or anywhere else is not acceptable for gun-toting members of society to randomly select and kill others.

Feeling bad that Charlie was killed while ignoring all the children who have been killed or traumatized in schools does nothing to alleviate the problem of availability of weapons doing all this harm in our society.

How can one stand and scream about this one man being taken out of life yet ignore all the deaths coming from other shootings?
