The Penguin
Among the biggest triumphs of the evening was The Penguin, securing 9 prestigious awards at the ceremony. Developed by Lauren LeFranc, this crime drama series is based on the DC Comics character of the same name and is a spin-off from the 2022 film The Batman. This medical procedural drama follows the emergency department of a fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre and its staff as they attempt to overcome the struggles of a single 15-hour work shift while managing staff shortages and underfunding. Each episode of the series covers one hour of the work shift.

The Star Wars prequel created by Tony Gilroy won 5 Emmy awards this year. Andor is the prequel to the 2016 film Rogue One, which was also a prequel to the original Star Wars film released in 1977. Andor follows a thief-turned-rebel spy as he explores the events behind the formation of the wider Rebel Alliance.
