Who is D4vd? New York-born singer and Coachella star, 20, is mysteriously linked to dead body probe

Popular singer D4vd has been thrust into the spotlight after a gory dead body was discovered in a car registered to his name in California.

The 20-year-old, real name David Anthony Burke, was born in New York City before moving to Houston, Texas, at a young age.

In his short career, the singer has risen to stardom – having released his first album just six months ago and making his debut performance at Coachella in April.

Burke lives a star-studded live in Los Angeles, as he’s been seen rubbing shoulders with the likes of Grammy superstar Billie Eilish at ritzy fundraisers.

D4vd was also welcomed onto The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this year as a musical guest – where he wowed fans with his singles.

As recently as June, the singer was seen flying across the world for Paris Men’s Fashion Week and attending glamorous shows for Amiri and after parties.

Earlier this year, D4vd announced his world tour to his two million Instagram followers. This week, the star is set to be performing in Missouri, Colorado, and Utah.

On September 8, police in Los Angeles discovered a dead body hidden away inside a Telsa that is registered to D4vd. The singer has not been arrested and there is no indication that he was involved in the ordeal.

Burke was homeschooled up until the seventh grade, revealing that he wasn’t allowed to listen to anything other than gospel and classical music until he was 13.

In a interview with VMan Magazine, Burke told the outlet that he had aspirations of being a professional gamer, citing his love for the popular game Fortnite.

Uploading clips of him gaming to YouTube, he said he would frequently be hit with copyright strikes for using music over his videos.

According to Burke, his mother then encouraged him to start making his own music as a way to navigate not being hit with complaints.

He said: ‘I started playing around with that and recorded my first song in my sister’s closet.

‘The first song I made was ‘Run Away’, and then I made ‘You and I’ which is the first song I ever put in a montage.’

He added: ‘I didn’t expect much but then people started using it in their montages, and I was like “Okay, this could be something”, so I kept making songs.’

Burke cited Lil Pump’s hit song ‘Gucci Gang’ as being an influence on him, telling People earlier this year that his exposure to mainstream music made him ‘go crazy’.

He said: ‘My mom was big on, like, “You going to be the smartest kid in the world. You’re going to be a genius”.

‘I listened to Mozart, listened to Bach, listened to Beethoven’, before admitting he secretly downloaded SoundCloud behind his parents backs.

Burke spot with the outlet prior to a performance at Coachella earlier this year that went viral after he suffered a nasty fall.

Before blowing up on social media and becoming a star in his own right, D4vd was the opening act for Grammy and Billboard-award winning SZA’s tour – performing to hundreds of thousands of fans for six weeks in 2023.
