Best hotels in the world, according to Condé Nast Traveler readers

Some are located in far-flung locations, others in megacities, and three are in Boston. Condé Nast Traveler released its Reader’s Choice Awards for 2025, and Hotel AKA Boston Common, Hyatt Regency Boston, and the InterContinental Boston all placed in the top 50.
Out-ranking all Boston hotels was the White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport, which was ranked the 17th best hotel in the world. The White Barn Inn has landed on the Readers’ Choice Awards for six years in a row. The White Barn Inn was also ranked the Best Hotel in New England.
The awards, announced Tuesday, are a sweeping look at categories ranging from Best Airport to Top Resorts in Europe. According to the magazine, more than 750,000 people voted in the poll. Additionally, T.F. Green in Providence was named the 9th Best Airport in the United States, and Miraval Berkshires Resort & Spa was named the 5th best spa in New England.

In the best hotel category, the White Barn Inn came in at 17th best in the world. Condé Nast editors wrote, “What’s most remarkable about The White Barn Inn is the extent to which they seem to have thought of everything: You walk away from a stay here wondering why all of life can’t be this seamless.”
Perennial favorite InterContinental Boston landed at number 24 on the list of the Best Hotels in the world, and the publication’s editors raved about its newly renovated rooms and suites. Of note in the review was the hotel’s views.

“There’s barely a bad view from this property — with workspaces, velvet banquette chairs, plush linens, and roomy standalone tubs with handy sliding-door windows that open into the room so you can doubly enjoy that waterfront view.”
The Hyatt Regency Boston ranked 26th on the national list. Although it hasn’t been on the Condé Nast poll since 2017, the 502-room hotel was praised for its proximity to the Theater District and Chinatown and its newly renovated rooms.
“The property demonstrates a real sense of range, whether you’re traveling with a furry friend and need pet-friendly accommodations or in search of more leg room, in which case a suite with its own balcony certainly couldn’t hurt,” editors wrote.
The newly renovated Hotel AKA Boston (formerly the Nine Zero) placed 41st on the list of the best hotels in the world. It was praised for its views and “relaxed, at-home feeling.”
Boston was nowhere to be seen on the list of the best cities in the United States; Chicago took top honors.
T.F. Green International, which often appears on best-of lists, was named the ninth-best airport in the country. It was cited as a budget-friendly alternative to Logan. Also in the air travel category, Delta was named the best airline in the United States, with JetBlue coming in second. Both airlines have made Boston a hub.
The pricey, luxe Twin Farms, located in Barnard, Vt., was named the 47th best resort in the world. It was ranked higher than the Four Seasons Koh Samui, where the latest season of “The White Lotus” was filmed. Perhaps “White Lotus” creator Mike White should consider filming a season at Twin Farms.

The magazine’s editors wrote that Twin Farms is “the perfect spot to get away from the city and relax amid maple and pine trees.”
