Ghanaian highlife star Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr has assured fans that he is in perfect health, dismissing persistent rumours about his well-being.
The “I Do Love You” hitmaker, who married last year, has recently faced comments from fans suggesting he looks pale or unwell in photos posted online. Some even hinted that marriage might be taking a toll on him. But Akwaboah says those assumptions are unfounded.
In an interview on Adom TV monitored by Ghana Weekend on Tuesday October 7, the award-winning singer addressed the issue head-on. “Yes, I’m very well paa. By God’s grace, I’m very well,” he stated confidently.
Akwaboah explained that his appearance has not changed drastically, stressing that physical changes over time are natural.
“You cannot look the same way you looked when you first joined the music industry,” he said, adding that he found it odd that people only began noticing his looks after marriage.
He further noted that everyone’s body reacts differently when it comes to weight gain. For him, weight tends to show in specific areas — particularly his tummy, cheeks, and thighs — something he’s actively working to manage.
“My weight gain shows in my tummy, cheeks, and thighs, and I personally don’t like it, so I try to work on it,” he revealed, even mentioning that he sometimes eats garlic before bed to help.
Akwaboah concluded by emphasising that health and self-contentment matter far more than meeting public expectations.
“Body changes are normal,” he said, “what matters most is staying healthy and feeling good.”
His calm response and transparency have since drawn praise from fans who appreciate his grounded attitude amid ongoing public scrutiny.
