Emmerdale viewers have expressed the same hope after Caleb Miligan was blackmailed by John Sugden. Viewers may recall that earlier this year, Anthony Fox was killed by daughter Ruby Miligan. It was Aaron Dingle who attacked him after learning about the sexual abuse he put Ruby through when she was younger, as well as fathering Steph. Aaron returned to Anthony later with John by his side and , but they found him dead. John was quick to dispose of Anthony’s body, but it was later revealed that Ruby was the one who had killed him. Joe Tate may have saved the day by making a contact in Spain hand himself in as Anthony, but one problem still remains – where is his body? John Sugden is the only villager who knows where Anthony is, and currently he’s public enemy number one after his long list of harrowing crimes was finally revealed. During Monday’s (September 22) episode, John was still lurking around the village, even with the many police on the hunt for him. He managed to find his way into Victoria’s cottage, and in true John style, he had a syringe in his hand. As he loomed over Robert’s photo, he heard his siblings talking outside. The villain appeared to have a change of heart after listening to Victoria confused as to whether John actually did care about her at all. Instead, he made his way over to the depot to blackmail Caleb Miligan – with a threat that viewers already saw coming. After accosting Caleb, he reminded him that he’s the only one that knows where Anthony’s body is, and he could easily turn the tables back onto them. Ever protective of his wife Ruby, Caleb declared: “Leave Ruby’s name out of it. Otherwise, I swear to you, I’ll find you in whatever prison you’re in, and I’ll kill you.” But will he help John flee the country? On X (formerly known as Twitter ), viewers had the same plea that Caleb won’t help John. @cossalltheway wrote: “‘You’re doing right by your wife, Caleb.’ Just kill him now ffs” @polingirl agreed: “come on Caleb, set him up. call Cain for backup and take care of john. make him beg for mercy and then get him sent down forever” as @audsldn penned: “I really hope Caleb has called Cain and they both kill John”. Another viewer, @ccikduckk reminded other fans of an interview Oliver Farnworth said, and wrote: “bring back Oliver’s interview in July where he said his LAST scene was with Cain and Caleb in the rain with some very the damp trees [not in court or prison] why do I get the feeling he’ll end up running away?” In the interview, Oliver said: “The last scene I shot was outside in the rain under some very damp trees with Cain and Caleb, which was fun. We were trying to stay dry for most of it, but maybe things get a tiny bit heated…” Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
