The ministry has been asked to submit the report within three days.Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said: “The attack on the MP and MLA reflects the situation created by Trinamool Congress. What action needs to be taken can be discussed only after getting details.” Rijiju on Tuesday visited the landslide-affected Mirik region.Murmu sustained serious injuries after his vehicle was attacked as he, accompanied by BJP Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, visited the rain-affected areas of Nagrakata in Jalpaiguri district on Monday. Both Murmu and Ghosh were admitted to a hospital in Siliguri. Murmu’s condition remains serious as he has received severe injuries, with a fracture under his eyes. West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose visited the hospital and slammed the attack on the MP.Live EventsBJP’s Suvendu Adhikari said he will move the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday if no one is arrested by the police, despite an FIR being lodged on Monday. BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya and Adhikari have demanded an NIA probe into the attack. “If the Centre and the state, Trinamool and BJP, fight against each other, what will people do in this time of crisis? The need of the hour is close coordination between the Centre and the state,” West Bengal Pradesh Congress president Shubankar Sarkar said after visiting Dudhiya in Mirik.Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had termed the attack “reflective of the absolutely pathetic law and order situation” in West Bengal.
