Cardiff City turn their attention to the EFL Trophy this evening, with a south Wales derby in store at Cardiff City Stadium.
Newport County are the visitors to the capital tonight, with boss David Hughes hoping to get his side’s season on track following a hapless run of one win in 11 league games, which has left them bottom of the EFL.
The Exiles are also looking for their first victory in this competition, having gone down 2-1 at the hands of Arsenal’s under-21s.
Cardiff, meanwhile, got their campaign off to a solid start with a 1-0 win over Exeter City, and a victory here would leave them well placed to progress to the next stage.
Brian Barry-Murphy is expected to make plenty of changes from the thrilling 4-3 win over Leyton Orient, not least because several of his players are away on international duty.
Youngster Robert Tankiewicz was left on the bench for visit of Orient, but the 16-year-old could well be involved tonight, and would subsequently become the youngest player to ever represent the club, beating Aaron Ramsey’s record.
The match is set to be shown live on Sky Sports+, but you can also follow all the action with our live blog below.
